Union Station Engagement Session

Naturally when you plan a destination wedding there are many facets
that need to be coordinated. Hotels, Family, Travel, Save the Dates, Location, Weather, Food, Honeymoon, everything has to be planned.
When J & T contacted me to shoot their engagement session I was ecstatic. I pulled out my "concept" board and got to work scouting locations that went along with a "Destination Wedding" idea. Their wedding will be held in Palm Springs this spring so naturally I thought about a Union Station get-a-way concept.

Then we jetted over to Griffith Park to catch the sunset and shoot a few more "fun" shots.

Beautiful Girls.....

Beautiful Girls
All over the world....
I'm the LUCKIEST photographer
Do you know why?
Because my maternity clients are beautiful, sexy, inspiring,
fun and vibrant.

Meet Amber.
Hands down one of the most beautiful woman I've had the pleasure to know and shoot.
As we spoke throughout the weeks leading up to our session Amber wanted to focus on the beauty of her body's transformation from woman to mother. How best to do that than with a
calm and relaxing session set up in my home studio.
We enjoyed an afternoon of catching up and swapping "I'm so pregnant" stories while
we created beautiful moments that captured her journey to motherhood.

I truly love the simplicity of this story.
A beautiful mother-to-be dressed in simple black and white silhouettes
overflowing with love and life.
I hope you enjoy it too.

First Day of Kindergarden....

My "first born" Jatin. First day of Kindergarden 9/13/2010

With a big smile and a steady hand
I lead my eldest son to Kindergarden on Monday.
We had been getting excited about the idea of
Kindergarden for the entire summer. Staying up late fantasizing about all
the new opportunities and friendship he will build, reminiscing about the friends I had in Kindergarden and the games we loved to play. It always lead me to smile.

As the day drew near I felt a twinge of sadness. My love, my heart, my first born was being ripped away from me and taken into a world were I could not protect him. As I led him to his playground we ran across a bunch of our friends. We quickly reunited and the children ran off to play leaving the adults to stand around in a circle having the "can you believe they are starting Kindergarden" discussion. The sadness returned.

I led him to his classroom and pulled him close to me. He quickly hugged me, said "I love you mommy" and ran off into his new world, a new chapter for both of us. I had such an overwhelming feeling of both sadness and pure joy as I watched him fumble around his pencil box and figure out how to hang his backpack behind his chair. He peered out the window to where I was standing and waved to me. He had on the largest grin I had ever seen and I knew at that moment we
were all going to be alright.

Little Sweet Ciaomhe

I love shooting babies...
The younger the better.
When I decided I would not continue 'my pursuit of being
the most awesome
Preschool teacher and
With my dreams of having 4 children coming to the realization that
I will only be having the two I have already given birth too,
I cherish every second I get with my clients
newborns.

This here is Ciaohme (pronounced Kiva)
Ciaomhe is the youngest of three beautiful little girls and
the most precious thing I have seen since I held my children for the first time.
Did I mention how much I love babies?????
So curious so sweet so new.

When I showed up to the house to do
our newborn session the oldest two girls
Fionnula and Erris, wanted to be in the photos too,
of course why wouldn't they. I've shot this family a few times now
so I knew exactly what to do.
We set up a jump-a-thon on mommy's bed and
let the girls tire themselves out, then we
shot little Ciaomhe in her
mommy's arms.
So very precious.........
