Summer nights….

a little #TBT to last night…

My little Kingston. My daredevil, my riot, my heart.
We were taking out the trash last night, something we do together most Wednesday evenings and he grabbed his "favorite" bike the Like-a-bike. He outgrew this bike many years ago and has moved on to the big boy bike he rolls around in now but every once in a while he gets nostalgic and pulls out his good old trusty.
He rode around breaking all my rules. No shoes, no no, no helmet, a BIG no no. He promised me he would be safe and go slow, then he got the brilliant idea to get my camera so I could take his picture while he was riding his favorite bike.
The light was beautiful, how could I resist?

My husband keeps asking me why I hold onto this bike.
I have tried to sell it and I can't let it go.
Both my boys loved it and rode it, they have both moved on and it sits in the garage like a trophy of days past.
I guess I keep it for the child who hasn't yet joined our family. The child waiting for us to be their parents.
Until then my little Kingston will keep it warm.

Fun Family in Palos Verdes

You know me, I'm a mush for a quirky kid with a mischievious smile.

And I'm no stranger to them either, I have two (three really) crazy ones at home but when I met little Ian over two years ago I was struck by love at first sight. It took a minute for him to warm up to me, actually it took the entire duration of our photo shoot but now on round three and a little sister added to the mix he and I are best buds.

Capturing this family's annual photo is so much fun. We ventured out to the cliffs of Palos Verdes walking around the park and staring at the lighthouse.
We looked on quietly as the researchers peered through their binoculars out at the waves trying to spot a whale or two. We didn't see any.... but the researchers said that 8 whales had been spotted since sunrise.

It took a lot of bribing but I finally got a smile out of Natalie, at the end of our session. Lollipops work wonders.

XOXO
